SAMHLAIGH /IMAGINE
Samhlaigh is a multidisciplinary arts collective based along Donegal's rural Atlantic coast. It gathers together artists, musicians, writers, photographers and multidisciplinary creatives to collaborate and work in a socially engaged manner. It also has a special focus on art outside of the gallery, immersive training, and the role of creativity in cultivating wellbeing. Forging strong connections with the community, the collective uniquely aims to bridge the gap between professional and novice art practitioners.

Samhlaigh develops arts-based programmes and experiences, with strong nature, wellbeing and heritage elements, and these are delivered to the public, arts audiences, and artists in outdoor workshops, retreats or residency settings. Samhlaigh aims to improve economic sustainability for artists living and working in rural Co. Donegal, and is also committed to forging social networks and maintaining a respectful connection with nature. Where possible, Samhlaigh actively promotes the use of the Irish language and seeks to cultivate practical, spiritual and sustainable connections with Mother Earth.

Yoga, Meditation, Sound Healing, Outdoors Activities, Compassionate Mind Training, Spiritual Connection to the Earth.
In 2023, we completed an exciting action research project with Artlink, Buncrana, as part of the Inishowen Arts Festival Feasibility Study. We designed and delivered IGNITE! At Tullyarvan Mill, a series of workshops to activate creativity and build community, We researched the project's impact preparing a comprehensive report, showing impressive wellbeing outcomes.
